Won't be long until we plug marble sized things into our belly buttons that will record a full lifetime of all the information that pours into our total Sensorium.  It will also keep us informed about the identity, history, and deep and dark desires of all the people we encounter or wish to know about, and make available to us all of human knowledge and wisdom as appropriate to our situation.  Until somebody decides to provide all those services on a subscription-only basis.

Seems a good idea if kept out of certain companies' grasps; however, what will be the impact on voyeuristic apartment spies? Will it help or hinder them in the pursuit of their "fine art" photographs of their neighbour's wife or daughter or, heaven help us, son? Come to think of it, from what I read, the lads might be in the greater danger. Oh well, it will keep them off the streets, locked behind their drawn curtains, so not everything is gloom. Outside, that is.
