I am looking for a solution for a tripod system which I can use for photography AND videography for HDSLRs... I would like to shoot photography and videography with Canon 5D Mark ii. I don't want to buy 2 tripods....
What should I buy? Do you recommend a hybrid solution? If yes, which one?
Manfrotto makes the Mh005 Q5 (Manfrotto MH055M8-Q5) head. Can you recommend it?
Thanks!

Ive ended up rolling with my miller solo video tripod for a lot of stills jobs
(mainly cos its nicer than my rusting 1980s frotto stills tripods!)
When im doing stills I add this..
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/303591-REG/Manfrotto_322RC2_322RC2_Grip_Action_Ballhead.html
Which gives me the option of upright images..

Max $1500. I would like to have something better which will last a long time and the head is smooth and fluid....

Sachtler, Cartoni and O'Connor make the best fluid heads in the business, IMHO. You'll find their products on any movie set. All of them make ~ $2K sticks-and-head combos that felt good to me when I played with them at NAB last month.

I think I have to buy one used... :)

Video head has to be on a leveling bowl tripod, which means no adjustable center column. Putting a camera on video head means limited movements and almost no vertical shots. One solution is to attach a ball head to the video head, even if this combo looks funny. Maybe there are bowl attachment for this also?
