Title: Fountains Abbey, Yorkshire, UK
Post by: graeme on May 09, 2013, 08:58:32 am
I've been intending to take some proper photos here for years, finally got around to it a few days ago.

All comments most welcome.

Graeme

All blocked shadows are intentional.

Haven't been there for years - now I want to go again, so that is my test of a successful photo!

I especially like the layering and repetition/echoing of architectural shapes in #1 and #3.

Hurrah! I for one am sick of every damned shadow being HDR'd out of existence. I like shadows.

Lois, Bruce

No 3 is my fave too. There are a loads of overlapping arch pattern photo opportunities at Fountains. I hope to get back in the next couple of weeks to capture a few more.

Bill

Yeah I'm a shadows man whereas blown / washed out highlights irritate the hell out of me.

I'm a sucker for arches as well. I've not been to Fountains for ages, but it's moving up my list. Nice shots.
