I've got a disk with Leaf Aptus .mos files that won't mount. Cardrescue and the others that I've looked at just look at jpeg, tiff files and the like. Does anyone have any suggestions for rescue software that might find and recover my files? I'm on the Mac by the way. No Windows.
Thanks,
John

Lexar's Image Rescue has a free trial:

Thanks, but the Lexar software didn't work. Any other suggestions?

I tried downloading the card using my Nikon D800 but that didn't work. I then stuck the card back in my USB reader and it miraculously showed up as a Nikon D3s card. Files downloaded. All good. Whew!

STOP
If you have any problems with a card do not try to solve it by trying "this and that".
Ask someone who is a pro in this business.
Or
Download a copy of the free software FTK Imager (Lite).
http://www.accessdata.com/support/product-downloads
And make an forensic image of the physical data on your card.
Take a look at this tutorial http://computer-forensics.sans.org/blog/2009/06/18/forensics-101-acquiring-an-image-with-ftk-imager/
But I would suggest to use another image format (e01).
This is a 100% forensic bit by bit copy of the data on your card.
Do not use your card for anything else before completing this forensic image!
Upload this forensic image to your e.g. dropbox and send me a message.
Maybe I can help you out.

Sorry, for this posting - it seems that everything is fine.
Maybe I can help someone else someday.

Hi John, glad it's all working for you,
FWIW in the past I've seen both Lexar's and Sandisk's software picking up the .mos files but calling them .TIFF or .tif. Leaf Capture will still open them as normally but you can also just change the extension to .mos, for Capture One
