Title: April night in Sweden
Post by: Rjohan on April 21, 2013, 11:29:04 am
Hello everyone!

So this friday I went to one of my favorite locations, Torö in Sweden.
It was quite a grey night, we didn't really get any color in the sky,
but it turned out alright anyways! Hope you like the image!

I live the rocks and the water; too much uninspiring sand foreground for my taste though.

I like it but I must concede that the large area of sand in the foreground doesn't bring much to this photo. I would try to either crop a little or reframe it (you'll need to return) in order to find triangles or othe rgeometric shapes - easier said than done, of course!

I'm never sure if this is acceptable but I gave the foreground a bit more "fog," and changed the crop to a 16:9 which puts the outermost island on the upper third quadrant point as well, the horizon line on the upper third horizontal (not that I am a strict adherent to the rule of thirds, but think it works nicely in this case).

Thank you for the critique, I appreciate it! I actually like the ammount of sand in the image, maybe it could be less but for me it works. Next time I get there I'll try to find other lines and include a little less sand.
