Title: Lava Field in the snow, Snæfellsnes, Iceland
Post by: Marlyn on April 21, 2013, 03:41:38 am
Continuing the Iceland and lava theme -  Large lava field in Snæfellsnes, Iceland, with Snæfelljokul in the background.

For those that know the area,  this was shot in front of the Black Church on the peninsula.  I am still trying to find the exact name of this field !  (Queue for Josh to chime in  with its name !)

B&W not my normal shooting style,  all comments welcome.   I find it difficult to get a good image of such a large expanse like this which conveys the feeling of these lava fields.

       IQ160, Cambo WRS-AE, 60mm SK,  3 shot pano.

Regards

Mark.

I like it, Mark. Nature without the hand of man.

Quite the vast expanse!  The right 1/4 of the frame seems unusually/unexpectedly dark, though.  I want to use LR's graduated filter tool to balance the light with the rest of the scene.

You are right !.

Looks like I exported / posted the wrong file.  This one is the quick stitch without applying the LCC's first.

Will repost when I get a sec.

The lava field is Búðahraun.  (The church at Búðir is Búðakirkja.)
