Gorgeous as usual, Rajan.

Have you ever tried getting within 100 meters of the shore of Myvatn in June? My wife and I tried camping there, but had to move back at least a quarter mile to get away from the midges that the lake is named for. This was back in 1974.

Yes, the midges can be annoying in the summer but I carry a head net.  I don't know what is more annoying in the summer at Mývatn, the midges or the tourist hordes.  The place has become too popular for its good.

I would love to come travel to Iceland for photography some day. You've captured many of its beautiful scenes.

Arėjukas - difficult to answer your question without knowing your general plan in Iceland.  Whether you are going around the island or focusing on specific areas.  Regardless of where you go, there will be eye candy aplenty.
