Title: Embedding profiles before editing and printing in LR
Post by: George Marinos on April 07, 2013, 09:51:31 am
As a Fine Art printer I am obliged to print for from various files given by my clients. The embedded profiles are more often : sRGB , Adobe RGB or the files are untagged.
Lately I prefer to print from LR  so I have a question; In order to have consistent printing, what i have to do with the files
since I don't know what kind of profile conversions LR does. Should I open in PS first to do some conversion and then proceed for editing and printing for example...?
Or what ?  My LR working space is ProPhoto RGB.

Tagged images are no problem in LR for print. It will recognize and use that data. No reason to convert to something else, the data is the data. Just don't go editing that data in Develop...

Untagged data is always bad! LR assumes all documents that are untagged are in sRGB. IF they are, cool. If not, you're screwed.

Thank you very much. If you can clarify the "don't go editing that data in Develop..."...
