I like the composition, but it seems a tad dark...could be my monitor at work.

This was the original but I felt the darker boxes blended in too much with the BG so darkened it a bit - well, a lot.

Yeah, I have to agree. Darker still?

I don't think so...while I am always striving for artsy, with this as a series I am trying to stay a little less so given the audience I'm shooting for - they're country folks and not sure all the "haunted" looks are going to attract their attention.

What about some split toning using a cooling filter for the background and a warming filter for the boxes? I guess what I am struggling with is what you pointed out: Blending of the mailboxes into the background. Your first version is indeed an obvious improvement, but I am still struggling with the boxes not standing out from the BKG as much as I'd like. But then I'm not the artist. I better shut up before Russ posts, "It's just fine as is." ;)

I may yet go there...it really looks much better printed than it does in thsi jpeg translation. Now I just have to decide what finish I want. So, when do we get some Moab shots?

Just installing the ACR, LR, and PS updates that support the D7100. I will try to get one up soon. As usual, came home from two days away and got slammed, poor working stiff that I am. You'd think people needed transplants or something ;)

WARNING: A CROP LOVER'S COMMENT

I really like the haphazard jumbling of the numbers. To me that is the important part and I'd love to see that the main point. I could do with much less background.
