I have an external hard drive that fell off my bed to the carpeted floor which didn't seem too far but enough to break something in there. I brought it to a local place and they couldn't fix it and have tried two other companies, recently Critical Data Recovery Lab in Toronto and they couldn't fix it. Anyone else you've heard of that I could try?? Thanks Cindy

I'm in Toronto too and I can't recall the name of the place I had to use a few years ago, but the cost was over $1000 to recover my drive.

Yes I sent it to Critical Data Recovery Lab in Toronto but they couldn't fix it. I'm now going to try Gillware Data Recovery in the States. I know it will be expensive but I am willing to pay to get the images back. I'm just wondering if anyone has suggestions on companies.

Contact the drive’s manufacturer directly and ask them. They will either be able to do the work or provide a capable referral.
Also, be certain to clarify if you want the drive repaired with the data intact or if you want the data recovered. I recommend opting for data recovery.

Drive Savers has been around forever recovering data but it's VERY expensive.

Hard drives are a bit like babies, they don't like to be dropped.
I know a pro who just returned from overseas and cat knocked his hard drive off the table. He has a good excuse for another trip over seas as he lost All the images!!
Good luck with it my friend, I really hope someone can help you.
BTW. two back-up HDs are an over kill until............................

Yes I have learned my lesson and now have another backup and am considering the backup of the backup lol. I'm praying someone has the know how, we will see!
