Sorry to see you go. You'll be missed.

Do try to consider it to be a "break" until proven otherwise.

I've had to take breaks in the past. I always find I'm ready to return at some point.

I hadn't realised what you meant: quit your room at once; you haven't been given permission to take to the lifeboats yet!

Seriously, a break does anyone good, but don't make it a long one, and whatever you do, don't let yourself ever feel you'd be 'losing face' or anything daft like that if you feel you'd like to return: no disrespect to anyone else, but you must know you are one of the more interesting posters that we have.

See ya, and good shooting.

Me too. I needed a break and finaly went back.

I'm sure Coot will be back soon. I can already hear the sound of the Dodge charger coming from far away. ;)

James Russell will be missed for a lot of reasons.

First he is one of the very best image makers of this forum and a profesional highly respected worldwide.

But personaly, apart from the artistical talents, I'll miss a lot the person himself.
I've been kwowing a lot of the big boys of this industry and learned that there is something way much more important tan the personal artistic habilities,
wich is the human side.
Coot is very good, but he never lost the roots, never played the start, never try to impress anybody, just his images speak by themselves.
He is a great and very very healphy person and that's priceless in an industry generaly dominated by big egos.
I'm sure all the persons who work with him on sets love him.

He was here for the share and the fun, and if things aren't fun anymore...time to go.

Coot, I'll miss you.

Ps: on the other hand, if I can understand Coot's choice, I'm with Keith. If people start to leave like that, it means that what we didn't want to see is winning the silly game. As he says: don't let them win.
mmm...I see the orange roof of the car in the horizon.

It feels like you've been run off and you much better/bigger than that.  Remember - keep smiling as it drives the others bat-shit crazy....

Please re-think, and come back, sooner or later, as if you had never left.  I'm not a medium-format shooter yet, but am very seriously weighing it.  You have a way of telling-it-like-it-is, cutting to the chase, cutting out a lot of peripheral junk.  I have much appreciated your posts, and know that it is we who should be thanking you, not the other way around.  I know I speak for many when I say it has always been a pleasure to see your posts pop up on a L-L page.  My particular thanks for the time you have taken to share your thoughts.  --Barbara Armstrong

Look forward to your return and your valuable perspective. What I have most enjoyed about your posts has been your lack of dogma.

I'll echo all the others: Please stay! Or at least make your "vacation" as short as possible. You are one of the bright lights of this forum and will be sorely missed.

I will seriously miss all the wise words and good advices from James.
When he posted, it was always about the pictures, and he, more often than most, backed his
word up with excellent imagery.
Come back soon!!!
