Hello everyone,
Last days i was doing a test of several RAW converters, and for my surprise i found that the RawTherapee its not the best in image quality but...give me 39.4MP resolution from a 39MP Hassy H3DII 39MP back !!!
I know that its not much a 0.5MP...but why this small sensor resolution its available in the back and not showing in the Phocus/PSD/LTR 4.2 conversions?
Phocus/PSD/LTR 4 - 7216x5412 = 39MP
RawTherapee 3.0.1.0 - 7240x5436 = 39.4MP
Anyone tried if PhaseOne, Leaf or other backs have any hidden increase resolution with other Raw Converters? and why this happen?
Thanks

Looks like one of the converters is applying some distortion correction with a crop

Maybe it is doing automatic edge recovery? As mentioned here: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/contents/DNG-Recover-Edges.shtml
There is an Adobe page for the plugin: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/lightroomplugins/

Phocus remembers previous settings. Like Yair said, check to see if you have a crop or any distortion correction settings from a previous image set there.

RT 3 is very old. It is well worth getting the new 4.0.10.1 . The improvement is significant.
-
No i don't have any crop applied, and all the full resolutions samples in the internet from the 39MP backs are 7216x5412...
Any one with a 39MP back, Leaf or phase can try if can get more 0.4MP increse?
Thanks
Pedro

Maybe you can pay a bit more for the software that gives you an advantage...

Lens corrections depending on the type of distortion that needs correcting require some cropping.
You must have a lens correction on in Phocus.
In this case it looks like Phocus is correcting for a slight pincushion distortion.

Hi,
My guess is that Fred is right on the issue.
Best regards
