The pigeon is door number three.

Maiden lane is so well framed that a pigeon can have symbolic importance.  I checked and the lateral center does indeed fall exactly on the vertical shadow line to the left of the cream door.  The line is closed on the top by a darker shadow and opens at the bottom to the full frame.  However, I keep waiting for the sun to come out.  I keep looking for a means of escape.  Maybe the pigeon...
