Driving down Interstate 280 through San Francisco's watershed lands on the peninsula south of The City, and gazing across San Andreas and Crystal Springs Reservoirs to the forested canyons and ridges along the far shores... Buelteman, having explored this extraordinary terrain for eight years, has captured its essence in his photographs. Fifty of these images, selected by the artist for this book out of a total of 6,000 exposures, constitute far more than a record of what is there: They are the artist's vision of a unique landscape as revealed in its significant details.
