Title: More Water

So as to not fall behind my quota of wet images, here are two from one of the very few clear days we have had in the last month.

Hi Churly,

Second image is really cool, with interesting textures, swells, and colors.  But in my opinion, I'm not sure the 1st image should be in this post as it doesn't add anything.

#2 has a more immediate impact, it's an easy image to "like". But #1 to me is a more intriguing image, it demands more from me in terms of analysis, and that is good :)

I like the composition, with the extremes of the wave in the water leading the eye to opposite corners of the image. This is the way I see it, and it works very well.

Agreed. The first photo is really nice but it lacks something that would push it to the next level and become outstanding.
The second is outstanding! I like the colors, the lateral symmetry... well, everything.

#2: very strong.
#1: more experimental. Isn't that what we're here for?
What would make it stronger? More of the colour in the top left?

Maybe part of the reason for the bifurcation of views on number 1 has to do with the particular juxtaposition of hues? I like the composition in terms of contrasts, curves and textures.

The big difference, to my eyes at least, between the very striking impact of the second image and the feeling that something is unfinished in the first, may be the pairing of saturated blue water with organic brownish tones in the upper left reflection area. Just a thought.

Thanks to everyone for varied and interesting comments.  It is kind of interesting I got these by basically turning 180 degrees and moving a couple of steps.  I agree the first seems unfinished but also think it is more interesting.  I also think that the two images present very differently at this size compared to full screen scale and viewing distance.
