Title: What?
Post by: Dale Villeponteaux on March 05, 2013, 07:29:57 pm
What is this phenomenon?  Not a lens artifact; I took this photo of what I saw.  Don't remember where the sun was, since this was several years ago.

Is this film or digital?

If it is film, then the classic old crescent moon is a pressure point caused by creasing while loading the film into a reel.

Well Whatever you saw and photographed was not in focus.  When you say saw - do you mean saw with the naked eye or saw through the camera?

I remember it as being seen by the naked eye and took two snaps with a digital camera.
But then, this was several years ago and my memory is not what it ever was.

Thanks for commenting,

Looks like the port engine of a Klingon battle cruiser with a dodgy cloaking system!
