I am quite pleased with this effort. It would be nice to know what you think.

I think it's fabulous. The contrast of textures between the silos and the soft clouds, which still have enough tonal variation to make them interesting (but I'm a sky kinda guy), the fantastic lighting, all of these are what work for me. Just a curiousity, did the color version work? Great job!

You just post stuff like this so the rest of us will feel inadequate, don't you? I do like it very much.

Really nice light and textures.

I would back off on the vignetting in the top corners.

I think it's fabulous.

Agree.

The trees growing up through the empty siloes are wonderful ... those silos have been empty for a Long Time.

Also, I'm glad you submitted the image with 4000+ resolution so I can meaningfully click-zoom into the image to study closer.

Everything comes into play for this fantastic shot… Sky with great clouds, just the "right" light, curves of the landscape and finally, those two old silos with a tree! Framing and B/W process are no less good!

Bravo

William, You're quite right to be "pleased with this effort." It's splendid work.

Works for me as I'm a sucker for the "Nature reclaiming" type of image.
There is a bit of dirt close to the top above the right edge of the left hand silo you want to get rid of if printing ;-)

Thank you all for the feedback! I really appreciate it!

David, we have had a lot of rain and everything is very green, too green for my liking. B+W helps matters. There is a (slightly different) colour shot in the "Hopewell" gallery on my site.
Chris, Francois, Russ, l_d_ and "sd" - thank you.
Jaffy, thanks for that, I only picked it up after I'd posted it!

Good composition, subject and light - although I do find the silos a little on the small side in the overall weight and balance of the image. I would have been tempted to move in a little bit closer, but I am a move in closer to fill the frame kind of guy  :)

However I do think that if you print the image large, that the scale and balance could then work very well.

Great shot.

Great shot! I would try the following to see if they added anything:

I think the burning in of the top corners is fine.

Well done!

William,
I prefer the B&W image, not only for the B&W treatment but also for the framing. There's just more room to appreciate the landscape and the silos.
