Title: Hong Kong Bay Morning Shot

Now that I've figured out how to post a photo on this site, I thought I'd post a photo befitting of this website's name.  (The first one I had were of monkeys)

I took this shot with the Zeiss 2/35 ZE which is manual focus only, so I find myself more miss than hit with this one.  Still probably my favorite lens and I try and use it as much as possible.  I also used the B+W ND .6 150mm Glass grad.  Very little post processing aside from warming up the raw image up to what it really looked like that morning.

One point to note:  On some computers in my house, this image looks a bit darker than ideal, but I don't want overexpose to compensate.  Let me know.

Keep it as it is. The soft and diffuse light is fantastic. Initially, I thought about some pincushion distortion but your photo is too small to be sure about it.

Thanks!  I have a bigger photo if you go to my link.  As for pin cushion distortion, I cannot tell myself.  I did correct using LR on the lens.  Is their data on lenses and corrective process good enough?

Evidently not good enough.
do it manually -no other changes necessary!

I looked at it more closely, I don't believe there is any discernible distortion.  It may look like there is pin cushion distortion because the water line looks like it going upwards.  However the water in the middle of the shot is going out much further than on the sides.

Just for grins and giggles I did a distortion control edit to see if or how far the horizon line was out of "level." It is considerably so (about a 1/16 of an inch - 1.5mm at the apex), but I have to agree with Mr. Lim as to it not taking anything away from the image as first presented. The human eye cannot discern that much scope of sight without moving the head from side to side. If we could see an area this vast, would it also be reasonable that we could see the curvature of the earth as well. Here is the edit using only the distortion control feature in "Transform," CS6.

I could have done a post crop as could he, but I think everyone would agree it really isn't worth changing the physics of the human eye, nor the image as shot and presented. For me, this image is almost all about the yummy light.
