Title: Frosted twin trees
Post by: bns on February 23, 2013, 03:37:24 am
Taken just after sunrise, but the sun had a day off.

Thanks for looking.

Interesting composition. I am a little taken aback by the cutting off the bottom tree and it seems a tad blown out on the whites at the bottom right, but otherwise, a shot nicely seen and captured.

I would like to see the bottom of the left tree also, but that's a minor quibble. Very intriguing shot.

Thanks Chris and Eric,

I should admit that cold fingers and wet eyes are behind the very tight border at the bottom of the left tree. I posted anyhow because after a while I felt that this exception to the rules was adding some positive tension to the composition.

The whites at the bottom right are not blown out, but certainly quite close. Deliberately I reduced contrast and clarity over most of the ‘background’ regions to make the trees stand out as much as possible.
