Title: epson 3880 clog and blob-
Post by: gchappel on February 18, 2013, 10:12:32 pm
I have been printing with a 3880 for several years- flawless until now.
Bad clog in photoblack.  Replaced ink cartridge-(it was low, about 3%) and ran one head clean cycle.
Passed the nozzle check after cleaning.  Did a small print- looked perfect except several large blobs of black ink on the trailing edge.
Thick enough to still be wet a minute after printing.
Will a couple more prints wipe this off?  Any hints on how to clean?
Using epson papers- hot press, cold press and luster papers, nothing new.
Thought I would ask, before I randomly waste paper.
Thanks in advance for any help
Gary

You may want to clean the capping station.  See the instructions here:
