Title: SWC ground glass reassembly help needed !
Post by: Paul Ozzello on February 18, 2013, 02:39:45 pm
Update:

For anyone interested, I found a link to the Hasselblad Accessories manual that contains an exploded view of the ground glass adapter.

Hi,

I have a later version of the ground glass adapter for Hasselblad SWC/M that I took apart after some snow got into the fresnel - I wasn't taking notes and I'm not sure which order some of the parts should go...  ::)

I have the direction of glass and fresnel figured out but not the rest, how should the 4 rubber washers with 'feet' and two rubber spacers with ridges be installed ? What about the 2 spring plastic clips ?

I know I know... I should send it to Hassy but I'd rather not be out of the camera for another 3 weeks (I recently sent the body in for CLA) and this seems like a pretty straightforward assembly.

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,
That will teach you not to take phone cam shots when disassembling! Seriously, though, I've been there and done that. Thanks for posting the manual. I've saved it locally for future reference for the next time I undertake - or think of undertaking - a Hasselblad DIY project.

Good Luck,
Ed

Hahah, turns out I wasn't such a dumb bunny - i had done it correctly :-) I recently had the camera CLAed and what I thought were focusing problems was a
problem with the ground glass. Subjects at infinity were out of focus in the viewfinder but razor sharp on film (at infinity focus). I ended up shimmying the ground glass with a layer of film and now it's perfect. You'll find service manuals for all hasselblad cameras on the same website.
