Title: Cold Laminator Options (50-55")
Post by: jsiva on February 16, 2013, 02:16:40 pm
Need to get a large format laminator for mounting prints (RC/FineArt/Canvas) on Didbond - 3mm and 6mm.  Some of the lengths could get to 96".  It will be all low volume, but again, I am mostly concerned about quality and reliability.  I will likely use the Codamount Cold-mount C1 adhesive, which appears to have the right acid free properties.

I have looked at options for laminators:

1.  Daige Solo 55" - Nice compact/light unit, and looks easy enough for 1 person to operate.
2.  Royal Sovereign RSC 1401C (lightly used) - heavy duty and looks quite bulky and heavy.  But again, Looks to be in a different class from the Daige, but maybe too much for the volumes I'm looking at
3.  Chinese products like USTECH - again quite bulky, not sure of what their performance is like.

All three are in the 2-3K range, and would appreciate opinions and experience.

Cheers.
