Thanks for the article Peter and well done on exceeding your goal. Just something worth noting: You have to be a USA or United Kingdom citizen to be able to take advantage of Kick-starter.
As a penal colony of good for nothing convicts; Australians (and that includes me) are not included ;D

Josh, you're mistaken: it was good-for-nothing Brits that were sent out there! The Australians were living perfectly happily on that land all along.

Thanks, very interesting article. If I can offer a suggestion, in order to test the water, it's very simple to self-publish at completely zero cost an e-book on iBooks using free iBooks Author. I'm toying with the idea right now. It can be used both as a promotion tool, but the final product can also be sold.

Josh-H does not know much about Australian history.
Almost 1/3 of Australia (think approx. 1/3 of the USA), namely South Australia (including the Northern Territory), was settled as a free colony (and colonists were required to have substantial means). No convicts, low life and other felons here, thank you very much, and if anyone played up it was off to New South Wales, Tasmania etc with them.
Unfortunately, the last arrangement no longer exists..
We will allow N.S.Welshmen, Taswegians to visit if they behave, but they do have funny little red rings around their ankles.

Beautiful book, Peter. For those who don't qualify for Kickstarter, you might want to check out http://www.indiegogo.com/ It's international, and one of the differences is that even if you don't achieve 100% of your goal, you'll still get the money that WAS invested.

Sorry, Josh-H, I tried to put in a few emoticons but the system bested me. Attempted click and drag, no.. , what does one do?! It was like someone with a chain around his ankle but the ball wouldn't move ..oh, sorry!, touched another nerve..help, send chocolate!
But I did think I put in a few non-serious clues.
Seriously (for the first time), I think they stopped transportation in 1868 (80 years in all). So you'll be OK next trip to Adelaide, but check your visa is up-to-date - those border fruit fly inspectors can be very, very nasty.

If you are writing in the Quick Reply window, emoticons are not available. Once you click Preview, they are there, waiting for you to click on them (not drag, etc.) 8)

While the book doesn't compare to seeing Peter's large print images in his Killarney Gallery, it is the next best thing! Wonderful to own or give as a present.
