Hi all -
It's time to get my thousands of photos from cds onto my Macbook Pro 15". The standard superdrive feels way too slow and I'm sure there has to be a faster way to get through this process. Any ideas suggestions?
Thanks in advance -

#1) I strongly advise you not to load all of those iamges on to the hard disk drive of your MBP unless you have a second HDD or better yet an SSD installed for just your OS and applications. You will appreciably slow down your compute. See http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/internal_storage/SSD/Mercury_Electra_3G_Solid_State for details on installing an SSD. If installing an SSd doesn't appeal to you, get an external HDD, possibly one that is portable to store the images on.
#2) It just takes time and patience.

Hi Ellis -
Thanks for your response. I am shifting them over to external hard drives. So patience with the copying/importing is it, eh? Oy!

I do not know of any method of reading CDs except reading them with a CD reader... Most readers are about the same speed, I doubt you can find, buy and install a faster reader than what you have AND save any time, unless you have thousands of CDs to copy.
