@ ducks

Nothing pulls me into the picture. The lighting is even, the tone is even, the pattern is random. It suffers from a lack of an obvious subject, or story. It would seem like that many ducks would tell some story, but that moment in time doesn't seem to be it. Also, the view is standard -  You are standing above a ground level subject. You might have -- waited for some form of break in the pack making a better pattern, or changed your view to something more unlikely, or bring other parts of the f/g or b/g into the picture. Maybe you rushed it?

As the title suggests it it reminds me of a Brownian motion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brownian_motion
there is no pattern whatsoever in their movement or placement

Yes. I caught the title, but not the motion. Nothing wrong with your photographic idea, you might want to make it more powerful, that's all.
