Thanks for that, Patricia, 6 minutes of my day well spent. Really enjoyed the insights on the airbrushing, the remaining toe, Huston's nightlife, and the wigs. Odd that Thelma Ritter didn't make it into the shot.

+1. Erwitt and Evans are my two favorite photographers. As usual, Erwitt's sense of humor is unbeatable.

Indeed; and it's probably the best (only?) reason for being in professional photography!

I liked the way he smiled as he made the remark... ;-)

I remember smiling photographic smiles too, once upon a time.

Rob,

Sales mean money.  Money can give you a lot of independence, freedom and security.  OR .... it can pay for a lot of freedom devoid of independence and security in some instances.

Cheers,

The eternal fear of the ageing mistress. As broached in another thread: does a 50-year old equate with two 25 year-olds? The only downside to that in terms of mistresses (or of playboys), is that if the 50-year old one was already an instance of buying younger, how would the reaction of the buyer be when faced with the challenges of the combined 25-year olds?

Personally, I'd just settle for love and the gentle, unseen and unrealised process of ageing together, which feels like not ageing at all.

An interesting discussion, but having limited experience of such matters is obviously a disadvantage... but I don't know, not knowing much about something seldom stops me from holding firm views on it!
