Title: Green band on the 4900
Post by: GEOFFREYJAMES on January 25, 2013, 01:02:51 pm
After 1500 problem free-prints from my Epson 4900,  I am now seeing a green band about 1/8 of an inch on the left hand side of prints. Nothing in the excellent trouble-shooting manual helps me with this.   ??>?

Geoffrey,

You haven't mentioned whether you've contacted Epson ProGraphics tech support about this. Even if you are out of warranty, from my experience you can expect at least telephone assistance from them. They may be able to help.

Thanks, Mark,  I'll try them.   It is most mysterious and not happening -- or at least visible -- every time.

Just passing this on -- that the green line at the edge of the print disappeared after a fine tuning of the platen gap and the cleaning of a couple of nozzles.  I am impressed by the thoroughness of the manual which tells you everything except,  as Mark has told us, how to load sheets into the rear manual folder,  which is the closest thing in digital photography to a craft skill.

Glad it's fixed.
