Monday 14th Jan gave us the first decent snow fall of winter 2012/13...shot on the tops in the Yorkshire Dales at sunset.

Nice shot. That looks suspiciously like a cloud inversion off to the left.

Thanks Bill....Yer their was a partial inversion.

I love, love love winter photography. Something about the soft palette of colors just appeals to me like crazy. About the only thing I like more than the soft winter pastels is a bright blue/orange winter contrast dusted with white snow and ice in the American southwest.

Very well done! ALMOST makes me wish I had a use for the snowshoes and toboggan that are still stored in the basement.

You wouldn't want to spoil a scene like that with snowshoes or a toboggan? :) Still waiting for the first snowfall in the West of Scotland at low level. A very nice scene. A good capture before the hand of man interfered and spoilt it. :)

I like the variety of textures: the near snow, the distant stoney snow, the low clouds, and the way the shape of the stone wall echoes in the near snow and the high clouds.
Nicely done.

Nice light and fluffy snow.
