Title: An Irish Forrest. Tomies wood near Killarney

Here is one of a series of photos I took around the south of Ireland, which were used to form massive vinyl wall coverings in the new Quest Software offices in Cork. The largest images were 13 meters wide and 3 meters high. You can see some here in my Architecture gallery here (http://www.endacavanagh.com/architecture/professional_photos_modern_offices_quest_software_cork_ireland). (I also photographed the finished office space for the architects). All in all a lovely experience. Each image had to have a particular theme tied into poetry or texts from famous Irish writers and poets. I found some beautiful locations. Here you see one of my favorites. It’s Tomies wood near Killarney, an area full of amazing forest.

Post by: Enda Cavanagh on January 17, 2013, 06:43:51 pm: Ya Vim. Pretty much. The light was quite soft so I knew i needed a BW conversion to really bring out the tangled forms of the holly trees. When working on an image which I plan to convert to BW I bring it so far in colour in photoshop, save and than work up further in BW.

The watermark is far to strong. It works as a powerful element in you image.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Peter and Stamper I'm afraid the watermark stays. I sell my images and as it stands I have already found images grabbed without my permission. I would love to not have the watermarks and I understand where you are coming from but photography isn't just a hobby for me. I could make the images much smaller on the screen and than the whole point of the image would be lost because the viewer just doesn't become as involved. It is becoming easier and easier to remove watermarks. (More so in black and white)

I would hope that the vast majority can see what the image is about even with a (what I would call as subtle as posssible) watermark.
