Title: Canon 5D vintage with greenish cast
Post by: Chacaboy on January 15, 2013, 09:49:47 pm
To all:

I have a Canon 5D, the original version, which I use as a background camera, and it yields files with a greenish cast that seems to be growing greener. I tried doing a custom white balance but this didn't seem to do it. Am I going to have to generate a camera profile? Any ideas would be appreciated.

thanks,

lane

Is the color showing on RAW files, or the camera monitor, or both? If the files, try a firmware update and see if that fixes things. Also try doing a reset to factory defaults. If these don't work could be a sensor(rare) or main board failure. Impossible to tell just what the problem is without a tear down.

If just the monitor, could be a flex connection problem or failing main board. Even when saving to RAW, the image on the monitor is a jpeg.

The reset helped and I'm updating firmware this morning. Many thanks!
