I really like the patterns in the background rocks. Too bad you couldn't shoot around those front rocks that are boring by comparison.

I agree that the background is intriguing.

i really like the image when the grass foreground is removed. i don't know if it is the yellow or the luminosity. The color play between the clouds, the far hills, and the close hill is wonderful.

I was following Russ's advice: this one isn't cropped at all. I have reduced both exposure and saturation of the foreground, though.

I like it a lot. The diverse shapes and layers form a very interesting image. I like the heavy, blueish sky and the yellow grass. I didn't try to remove the foreground grass…

Jeremy, is your photo made near Mexican Hat and Indian Blankets in Utah?

It's fine just the way it is, Jeremy. I think you were right to reduce the tone and saturation in the foreground. It's not the greatest shot you've posted recently, but it's not bad either. Problem is that a couple of your recent posts set a standard so high that it's a hard one to live up to.

Russ, I seem to have painted myself into a corner, then! I'd better post a few bad shots to lower expectations.

Francois, yes. I didn't make a note of where I took it, but looking at the timestamps it seems to have been on my way back from Goosenecks to Monument Valley, so somewhere around Mexican Hat would seem about right.

Nice image.  The table is in fact the "Mexican Hat" which lends its name to the nearby town.

It is, isn't it? I suppose that must have been one of the reasons I took the shot in the first place. Thanks.
