Nicely done!

Indeed it is nicely done.

Very nice.
I love that area, you are walking through a forest were all the trees look like they are wearing sweaters. All the branches are moss covered arcs. Old man's beard is draped everywhere.
-
What a truly wonderful tree! And quite nicely photographed to boot!

Fantastic light and textures. The only improvement I can think of is to borrow a ladder from Tim Wolcott to get a little higher and eliminate the lean-in effect.

+1.
And I like the lean-in effect here, since that's the way big trees look when you have to crane your neck to see them.

....find myself desiring to inhale deeply...can even feel the sphagnumed earth beneath my boots.

I'm late but I find this image truly fantastic. The moss-covered tree, the ferns give an impression of a primitive and remote forest. The side light is perfect and shapes this magnificent tree.

Gorgeous... I can *feel* the crisp moisture in the air! Just wonderful.

+1 on the nicely done.

Like this, the lovely light from the right make this one...iam getting overtones of Jurassic park/T -Rex lurking near by...lol
Nice shot well done.

May I ask what Camera/Lens combo you used and the settings ?
thanks.

At a guess, I'd say he used a Sigma DP2 Merrill, 30mm lens, 1/5" exposure at f/4 and ISO 100.
Of course, the EXIF could be wrong ;)
