Have you read the excellent article by Peter van den Hamer, link in the "News" ?!
It's very interresting and done by someone involved in sensor research.
So, if you've not seen it, take a look, it's long and very detailed.

You are so right, that is a very good, in depth article that I will have to reread and digest! There is tons of great information to be digested and put to use. Thanks to Peter van den Hamer for sharing all his work.

Excellent article, and one which explains things for people who have problems with DXOmark scores (usually due to not really knowing what the scores mean).

Indeed excellent article. For the Canon users there is help with the noisy shadows as highlights are on pair with the D800. Diglloyd wrote how to proper ETTR with the 5DIII as there is enough headroom to overexpose the jpeg histogram 1 to 1 1/2 and then pull down the exposure. Results are excellent. No noise or color binding.

I plan to read it again. Very well done.
Thanks!
