Title: A Light Seeker's Quest
Post by: Ralph Yabut on December 15, 2012, 01:36:22 am
Hi guys, I'm Ralph from Philippines. It's been year since I started shooting landscapes. Inspired by people who share this common interest, I have made landscape photography more than just a hobby, but an ambition to see the world in life and color. The good thing about landscape photography is that it draws you to be in the right place at the right time - see marvelous scenes like no one else does and have a glimpse at landscapes at its finest. I humbly share some of my images mostly taken here in our country.

"SALVAGED DREAMS"
Soaking wet, sea spray, battling tough crashing waves on a morning in Ampere beach, Aurora 2011. Upon visiting this place, I realized what landscape photography is all about, the passion and love for the craft makes you risk everything just to get the shot.

The adventure has only just begun...

Jeremy

Thanks a lot Jeremy.

Here's some more...

Marinduque,It is sometimes called the Heart of the Philippines because of its geographical location.
It's almost a 4-6 hours travel time from the busy streets of Metro Manila.  This place also  has a lot of potential when it comes to landscapes,
I hope that this coming holidays, I can go visit and explore it again.

As soon as the  sun hits the horizon, a brilliant explosion of light showed up in the sky, forming thick crepuscular rays.
So I hurriedly look for any foreground element, lucky I was, there was this log waiting for me to capture the show.
Image taken in the Town of Pangi 2011.

I like the treatment: light, bright skies and water. Photographers closer to the poles seem to go in for darker skies.

Some really interesting treatment of the light on these.  Well done.  Particularly fond of 'Hut Light' and 'Torrijos' Gift'.

If you want some reasoned feedback it might be worth posting fewer images? The first monochrome, excellent potential lots more to be drawn out the sky, think about separating the tones...but very nice indeed.
