I'm not buying one until they get the color ISO up to at least 18.   :D

Great nostalgia; thanks.

The prices there indicate that this Leaf back cost as much as about 1GB of RAM (which had to be in 16 chunks of 64MB each.) So Moore's Law has been more effective for some chips than for others.

But my favorite line is this:
... this camera has a nine stop dynamic range. This actually beats film.
A comparison that is still being debated!

Hahaha, yes, with still cameras hovering in the 12.5~14 stop range now, and with digital film cameras in the 14~16 stop range, people are still asking if it's better than film. Helluva rose tinted glasses, they be.

Speaking of these backs...

So when i was in college i did an internship at Scitex in Bedford, MA. I had no real interest in photography at that time.

I was working on printers for some time, but then got transferred to 'the Leaf room'. I had no idea what all these calibration charts where, bad pixel masking calibration software etc... i never used any of it and i just followed the instructions at that time. I knew the backs i was handling were worth big bucks, my boss reminded me of that all the time. But i was just college student collecting a paycheck.

Man, i really wish i paid more attention while working there. It could have been really insightful and maybe even lead to more complete understanding of things now.
