Title: Slideshow Audio Question
Post by: Kit-V on December 12, 2012, 06:39:00 pm
I plan to present a slideshow (with audio track) from my MacBook Pro to an HDTV with a direct HDMI connection. However, I am not having any luck trying to figure out a way to play the audio track through the HDTV' speakers rather than through the MacBook Pro. Is this possible to do?

Thank you.

Can you run an audio line out from your MBP to the audio in on the HDTV? Using a separate audio cable?

Based upon my limited knowledge, my preference would be to run the audio through the DVI-HDMI cable for better sound fidelity; hence, my question.

What I discovered is that my Mac is too old to support audio through the DVI-HDMI cable. So for the time being, I simply connected the headphone jack on the Mac to a couple of audio input ports on the back of the HDTV. After a quick configuration, all is fine
Thank you.
