Title: Workflow for printing gallery wraps
Post by: PeterAit on December 12, 2012, 10:07:11 am
I prefer to process in LightRoom but to print from Photoshop. I have developed a workflow using both that is serving me well as I prepare for a big show next month. In case it might be of interest to others, here it is:

1) Decide on the final image dimensions and aspect ratio. Because I use commercial stretchers, the print size must match an available frame size.
2) In LR, crop to the aspect ratio determined in step 1.
3) Turn on soft-proofing and use LR tools to make the desired changes to the image.
4) Open the adjusted proof image in Photoshop.
5) Use Perfect Resize to set the image size as determined in (1) and resample, if needed, to the desired pixels per inch. I use 240 or 180.
6) Use PK Sharpener's output sharpening module to apply sharpening.
7) Use Perfect Resize to apply a reflected border for wrapping.
8) Print.
