Greetings -
Selling a very nice condition Leitz Wetzlar 50mm Summicron Type III, with caps and hood. Glass is clear, with no haze, fungus, cleaning marks, etc. There is a slight amount of oil on the aperture blades, but it doesn't effect performance. Cosmetically it is excellent(I'd say 9 out of 10), with a few signs of normal use. There is no wear or brassing on the mount.
That said, it has been modified for 6 bit. After using the Coder Kit to do the coding, I noticed the hash marks would wipe off when the lens is installed due to snug fit. I used a micro milling machine to mill shallow divots and filled them with flat black enamel. One mark landed on a screw head, so filled it with flat white. This allows the use of all five screws and still let's it be removed for service. Function has been confirmed with an M9. The hood shows normal use, with no major dents or dings.
This lens creates superb images, and had picked it up when rebuilding my lens collection for the 9. I think I used it once or twice, so better for it to go out in the wild rather than sit on a shelf.
