Eibsee lake, Germany on a very brisk Friday morning after a recent snow. Enjoy

I personally find the deliberate heavy grain look not to work well on this image, and the boulder in the foreground to be very distracting as presented in this rendition.

It looks nervous.

Yes, exactly. I was taken aback at first glance but then thought that at least it isn't pretty, and that is something.

Gonna have to agree ... The boulder throws things off and the strange processing really doesn't work for me.

Is it grain or some kind of texture blending?

To my eye, it looks like negative clarity is involved.

Were it mine, I’d clone out the rock in the foreground. The concept of a foreground anchor is on the mark but it is, to my taste, too heavy for the scene.
The image looks a tad over sharpened, but that could easily be due to the image reduction.
Would you tell us a bit about the processing you did here?

Thanks for the input everyone! She is "ugly" isn't she but with elements. This is a texture blend, warped in the fires of SEP2. I wanted something heavy and not cute. I'm trying out some different techniques combining CS5 (which I have VERY little experience with) and LR 4.3/SEP2. I can generate a "safe" capture that most people would like but I'm pushing out my comfort zone to see what is exactly out there. You may see me fall on my face but I'm going to keep on keeping on till I'm satified!
Again, I really appreciate the critiques! Good, bad, happy, or sad.
Cheers!

A little too heavy in the processing for me this one.
