Title: Help - soft proofing has vanished
Post by: PeterAit on December 05, 2012, 09:58:54 am
LR 4.1, I was using the soft proofing just yesterday. Today the soft proofing command is gone from the develop module, even when developing the same photo I soft-proofed yesterday. I have tried a restart/reboot.  :-\

Peter,
If the toolbar at the bottom of the preview frame is not visible type "T" to bring up toolbar.

If the toolar is visible and softproof is not visible click on the triangle at the right side of the toolbar and check softproof.

Thank you thank you! This is my only major issue with LR, that the interface is way too "customizable" with the result that needed commands vanish for no apparent reason.

I find the LR UI quite simple because it is fixed so you can really only control the visibility of UI elements.  With great tools comes great responsibility  ;D.  Take the time to learn how the UI works and you will be rewarded many times over.  There are many videos that cover this, plus learn the keyboard shortcuts such as D, E, G, C, F, N, O, Q, R, V, T, L, B, I, K, M, A, F5-F8...

A really nice shortcut is the "ctrl /" in any module and you will get a list of all the keyboard shortcuts for that module. Very handy.

I do believe that if you are in the Develop module, typing "S" will get you the softproof.
