There have been some reports of corrupted DMG installers on some Macs. No consensus yet on what to look out for. We have had 3 CI team members download and install on 3 different Macs with no issue: 2011 MacBook Pro, 2010 Mac Pro, 2011 iMac.

C1 7.0.1 download time from our site is about 2 minutes, 20 seconds.

DMG can become corrupted during downloads. Generally a second attempt at downloading fixes the problem.

Hello,

Well I have down loaded and installed Capture 7.1 on my work station IMac.

As usually it is a disaster with my Nikon D800s. They constantly disconnect then the wheel of death appears and I have to quit C7.1. Then when it is restarted it just starts crashing.

Honestly Phase what the hell are you guys up to?

I got in touch with Control My Nikon and they inform me that there Mac version will now not be available till mid year.

So I was now hoping that this dame Phase software would work.

Cheers

Simon

Simon,

Years back, I was given some sage advice to repair permissions before installing new software and then after the installation. It usually works for me. So, if you've not repaired permissions on your Mac, maybe that might help.

Good Luck,
Ed

Hello,

Well I have totally cleaned my work station IMac with Lion Cache Cleaner and also started using a shorter USB3 cable plus attached a newer USB3 powered hub.

For the past 2 days C7.1 has been working smoothly and has not disconnected from my Nikon D800’s.

So hopefully it will stay stable.

My only criticism is it takes a long time for the images to sharpen when you zoom in compared to Nikon View NX2.

Cheers

I use my Nikon d800 shooting into the new mackbook - using Capture one 7.1 without a problem. I also use the basic Nikon USB cable. Seems like a solid shooting solution.

More of the issues come down to the USB 3 cable. I had a lot of issues with cables for some reason both with the camera and external hard drives not to mention even my card reader. Not sure what it is but look at cables first as they seem to be a big issue.

I can't get 'sort by rating' to work. And it still crashed about 6 times in a 2 hour shoot. Lost plenty of shots in the crashes too. When's 7.0.2 coming out?

Steve, is there a reason we might expect a Capture 7 Express some time soon?

Pentax support for K-5II and K-5IIs....
Why no support for Pentax 645D?

Hi,

On a more adult tone, I've seen a significant improvement in stability with the 7.01 release. I've even switched the Hardware acceleration for Display back on from 'Never' to 'Auto' and don't recall a single crash since that moment. The initial switching it to 'Never' also solved the majority of issues for my hardware.

That's not to say that it's now stable on any conceivable hardware mix in all computer systems, I wouldn't want to bet on that, but things do seem to have improved, and there will surely be more fixes when the cause is identified. So have you raised a support case for whatever issue you suggest you're having?

Cheers,
Bart

Interesting - I had a problem with this last week, and had to use the sorter at the top of the thumbnails (View>Sort>Rating did not work). But today it does work.

7.02 is in active beta, so not much longer, hopefully.

I could never get it to work for one shoot, but it worked fine with another. Perhaps there was something corrupted in one of the crashes.
