Title: R.I.P Bryce Bayer
Post by: yaya on November 25, 2012, 08:48:03 am
Figured this is the most appropriate place to post this. Many of us owe Mr. Bayer quite a bit

Bryce Bayer has passed away on Nov' 13th 2012 (http://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2012/11/20/bryce-bayer-who-created-bayer-filter-for-digital-cameras-has-died)

RIP

RIP.

I'm working with code handling bayer arrays right this minute so I'm right into this invention. I'm still not convinced that foveon (huuuge channel overlaps) or x-trans (huuuuge mess to demosaic) is better than the original Bayer. It shall be interesting to see how far into the future we'll continue use Bayer filter configuration.
