Title: The new HC 50mm II ? Worth it?
Post by: hasselbladfan on November 24, 2012, 11:10:24 am
Hi guys,

Did someone test the new HC 50mm II?

Is the upgrade noticeable? I hear it has some better contrast.

Is it worth the extra 2000 usd (4400 usd vs 2400 usd for a barely used 50mm I)?

I don't have the older 50mm lens, cannot compare.

The 50mm II is a sharp and fast focusing lens.
The H4D built-in flash is useless, because this long lens causes a visible shadow in the bottom of frames.

Thanks for your comment on the 50mm. Any pictures you like to share?

On the flash, I guess it only makes some sense with the 80mm and up (to trigger the studio flash).
