Title: Best high-end monitor?

I have no experience in high-end monitors.

Which would be the best monitor to start with? Ideally not exceeding 1500 usd.

Don't know if it matters, but to be used with Epson 4900 and a recent MacBook Pro.

About 70% is B&W (nature / portrait).

Either and Eizo CG or one of the higher end NEC's are pretty much it for right now. Which colorimeter are you currently using?
