Title: Lightroom 4 Catalog
Post by: lmwacctg on November 15, 2012, 02:12:42 pm
I have the current version of Lightroom 4 which was upgraded from Lightroom 3, all on Windows.

I have noticed that my current Lightroom 4 catalog is called "Lightroom 3 Catalog New-2". I have not noticed any issues but thought I'd ask if there was something I did not properly do upon upgrade.

Regards,

Don

The name of your LR 3 catalog was 'Lightroom 3 Catalog New', correct? when you upgraded from 3-4, LR added the -2 to keep the original from being overwritten. That's to be expected...

I've had no difficulties renaming catalog files so long as the correct filename structure is observed. I have renamed the Previews file, coupled with a catalog, in the same manner.

You didn't ask this question, but it occurs to me that you might choose something other than the chosen name.

Thanks John. I will think about changing the name, but I'm not really that fussed about it as long as I have nothing to worry about from a processing nature.
