I like it. Death Valley?

And just to prove I can be inconsistent, I like the little lump in the upper left corner. It balances the lines in the sand below the dry patch ("Playa" is it's name).

It's a nice semi-abstract.

Looks like an alligator, especially when viewed as a thumbnail. Nice capture anyway.

I had the same thought…

Looks like DV, in the Mesquite sand dunes area.

I just told Seamus the same thing Jeremy, but I have to say it again: that's seeing. A very fine shot.

Thanks, all.

I see it more as a snake, Slobodan.

Eric: I didn't know the name. My thoughts when cropping (only a little, Russ) to leave in the upper left bush were the same as yours: balance and also containment.

Francois: spot on, the Mesquite Dunes.

The unknown (to me) photographer and I spent the next hour or so walking along parallel dunes, he about a quarter mile further in than I. I found him a useful scale marker!

I like the 'alligator' as well.  Seems so incongruous to have one in the desert.  I don't like the little shadow in the UL, but that's just me.

Not in the sand dunes but you can find crocs in the Sahara (link 1 (http://www.iol.co.za/scitech/technology/sahara-s-last-crocodiles-prosper-in-isolation-1.238376) and link 2 (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2002/06/0617_020618_croc.html)).

I won't say what my first impression of what I thought it was but brown colour will give you a clue. It is very interesting and different from what you mostly see on here.
