Title: Hasselblad H3D : Digital Back Has No Power
Post by: chaosphere on November 03, 2012, 08:16:15 am
Hi everyone !
Who had allready experienced this kind of message/problem on his H3D/H4D ? Mine is having this problem (H3D2-39) and I followed every advice from Hasselblad UK service but it still not working. I cleaned every data pin with ethanol, fully charged my battery (though it's not new, can it come from this ?), re installed the latest firmwares... Hopefully it's under guarantee...

Did you try to tether the camera?

Yes, when I connect a firewire, the back wakes up.

I think i'm reaching the answer to my problem... the battery grip. I have noticed that if I fully charge it for about 8 hours after reseting the battery (flash + menu ) It works for a while. Maybe that's why it doesn't work when I don't use my camera for a week (I let the battery grip on the camera).

I will try buying a new battery. Anyone knows if the new batteries (the once with the H5D) are for sale ?

Fine, that seems to be the answer. I do not have any problems with the three battery grips of my H3D until now.

But I remember, how my iPhone 3G went dead from one moment to the next. I bought a replacement kit, changed the battery and it worked again (two years ago and still working).

If I could get the new grip with higher capacity I would prefer it.

that's right Bernd
went dead from one moment to the next
this is exactly what happened. I bought it in June,2nd hand, and I could shoot about 200 photos with this battery (it's not so bad for a battery on wich is written "ProCentre 04-09" !!)  ;D
I will look for new batteries but will buy one new very soon, even if it's the "old" version
