Title: Nikon D800E won't format CF cards

Just received my D800E and it won't format any of my SanDisk Extreme III or IV cards.

Tried through the menu--was not able to start format process.

Tried though Mode+Delete--LCD flashed For, but images still remained on card.

Any suggestions?

Try formatting it on your computer first. Then allow camera to format

It says in the manual not to format on a computer.

Make sure you are pressing the ok button on the bottom left, not the button in the in the middle of the multi-selector (like you would on a d7000).
