Title: GH3 Field Report Question
Post by: meyerweb on October 27, 2012, 10:21:59 am
Michael, I'm curious if you used continuous AF mode at all, and if so, did you notice any significant difference in performance compared to the GH2 or OM-D? While not important for landscapes, it is useful for some other situations, and this still seems to be the Achilles heel of mirrorless systems. I've been very happy with my GH2, but don't pick that camera up for shooting sports, birds in flight or other fast action.

Because of the early software, no I didn't. But this has always been a area where contrast detection systems are weaker.

Yes, that's true. Panasonic seems to be making great claims for improved AF.  I'm hoping there's at least some truth to them.

Thanks.
