A couple of questions regarding the wide TS lenses.
When used at max rise or fall what sort of quality do the extremes give you at say f5.6- f8, is the 24mm better at extreme rise fall than the 17.
The same for the Schneider 50mmTS. Does focus shift during rise fall adjustments, I will be using these at infinity.
Some sharp end user knowledge opinions would be appreciated please.

I have some examples from the TS/E 24mm posted at this site (http://www.openphotographyforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=77974#post77974). From the reports I've read, the 17mm is almost as good, but I've not tried that one myself because it's too wide for my use.

I will get one tomorrow, your results look as good as the 24mm 1.4I I I have, I want to use it for aerial work, I'm fed up with tall buildings bending this way and that.
If it works well I'll go for a 17mm and the 50mm Schneider as well.

Um what can I say, I have learned two things tonight.
1/ What a tremendous camera the 1Dx is in the dark.
2/ Canon can make decent wide angle lenses.
The 24mm tilt shift makes the 24mm f1.4II lens look rather poor.
You can't use f1.4 if you have anything near a corner that will not need to be total mush, in fact you need to stop it down rather a lot. I think the f1.4 is there just for those that think bokeh is where photography arty farty starts and finishes, those people that care more about the bits that are not sharp, it's certainly creamy dreamy in the corners.
The TS on the other hand looks built for those of us (probably only me) that like everything sharp.
I was wavering between switching over to Nikon, this lens from my quick tests makes me very pleased to have stuck with Canon, plus the more I shoot with the X the more I'm thinking it's probably the best camera I've ever used. It is just a one trick pony, but it's one trick is it does everything you throw at it incredibly well and that's an amazing trick.

I often use it at f/3.5 (wide open). The PZ tests indicate that at the centre it is best at f/3.5, with some improvement at the border and extremes up to f/5.6 or so. However the centre falls off beyond f/3.5.

As for shift, I rarely use it, but use tilt most of the time for landscapes.
